Add-ins & Integrations

Run suPlay Poll from inside the deck you already present with — PowerPoint or Google Slides. The QR code, question and live results appear on the slide itself, so you never alt-tab away mid-session.

Included on every plan, including Free. The integrations are how you actually use suPlay week to week, so they are not a paid extra. Free is limited by audience size (25 participants per event) and by report exports — see Plan & Billing.

Google Slides

Two free pieces that work best together. The suPlay Poll for Google Slides™ add-on puts a sidebar in Slides for building polls and attaching them to your slides — and it inserts a real poll slide into the deck, so the file still makes sense to anyone you share it with.

Install the Google Slides add-on

The companion Chrome extension is what makes the moment live: during Present mode it overlays the results on top of your slide, updating in real time as the room votes. Without it, results show on a separate display screen and on participants’ phones; with it, everyone watches the votes land on the slide itself.

Install the Chrome extension

Works with every question type, including answer reveal for quizzes and a live leaderboard. Either piece works on its own — the add-on builds and shares the deck, the extension runs the live session.

PowerPoint

The suPlay Poll add-in embeds live polls directly in your PowerPoint slides — showing the QR code, question, and real-time results right on the slide during your presentation.

Install from the Microsoft Store (AppSource)

The add-in is free on the Microsoft AppSource marketplace — the easiest and most reliable way to install. It adds the add-in inside PowerPoint without admin rights, works on managed and sandboxed Office installs alike, and stays up to date automatically.

  1. In PowerPoint, go to Insert → Get Add-ins (sometimes labelled Office Add-ins or Store).
  2. Search for suPlay Poll.
  3. Click Add and accept the permissions prompt.
  4. That’s it — the add-in is installed. See How to Use the add-in below to add it to a slide.

On a locked-down Office install where the Store is disabled? A manual installation is available near the bottom of this page.

No install

Live Presenter mode

Prefer not to install anything? This runs live polls in any browser with the same controls as the add-in. Open any event and click Present to get started. Your audience joins via QR code or join code on any device.

How to Use the add-in

Follow these steps to run live polls from your PowerPoint presentation.

Insert the Add-in

In PowerPoint, go to Insert → My Add-ins and choose suPlay Poll. It appears as an interactive element on your slide. (Manually-installed add-ins live under the Shared Folder tab.)

Sign In

Enter your suPlay Poll email and password. These are the same credentials you use on poll.suplay.nl.

Select Your Event & Poll

Choose the event you prepared on the website, then select which poll to show on this slide. Duplicate the add-in on other slides for more polls.

Present

During slideshow mode, each slide shows its assigned poll with the QR code, question, and live results updating in real-time.

Manual installation — advanced, only if the Microsoft Store is blocked

Most users should install from the Microsoft Store (top of this page). Use these steps only when your organization blocks the Office Store — you place the add-in manifest file in the correct folder for your platform.

Download manifest (XML)

Mac

  1. Download suPlayPoll-addin.xml (use the download button above).
  2. Open Finder.
  3. Press Cmd+Shift+G (Go to Folder).
  4. Paste this path and press Enter:~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Powerpoint/Data/Documents/wef
  5. If the wef folder does not exist, create it.
  6. Copy the manifest file into this folder.
  7. Quit PowerPoint completely (Cmd+Q) and reopen it.

  1. Download suPlayPoll-addin.xml (use the download button above).
  2. Open File Explorer.
  3. Try each of these paths in the address bar (the correct one depends on your Office installation):

  4. If the Wef folder does not exist, create it.
  5. Copy the manifest file into this folder.
  6. Close and reopen PowerPoint. Look under Insert → My Add-ins → Shared Folder.
  7. If “Shared Folder” is empty, you need to register the folder as a Trusted Catalog:
    1. File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings
    2. Click Trusted Add-in Catalogs
    3. In the “Catalog Url” field, paste the Wef folder path from step 3
    4. Click Add catalog, check Show in Menu, click OK
    5. Restart PowerPoint

PowerPoint Online

  1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint Online.
  2. Go to Insert → Add-ins → Upload My Add-in.
  3. Select the downloaded suPlayPoll-addin.xml file and click Upload.

Troubleshooting

Google Slides

Sidebar says “Action not allowed”?
A Google add-on always runs as your browser’s default Google account. If the deck is open under a different signed-in account, Slides refuses the request — confusingly, signing in still works, because that step never touches Slides. Open the deck in a window signed in to only that account (an Incognito window works), make that account your default, or share the deck with your default account.
Live overlay not appearing on the slide?
Reload the Slides tab. Chrome only injects into pages that were loaded after the extension was enabled, so a deck you already had open shows no overlay until it is refreshed. Then check that the slide actually has a poll attached — use the extension’s popup or the add-on sidebar to attach one.
Attached a poll but the deck shows a different join code?
A deck can hold polls from more than one event, and each event has its own join code. The attach picker warns you when the deck already contains polls from a different event — keep one deck to one event unless you mean to switch codes mid-session.

PowerPoint

Add-in not appearing after install?
Make sure you quit PowerPoint completely, not just close the window. On Mac: Cmd+Q. On Windows: right-click PowerPoint in the taskbar and choose “Close window”, or use Task Manager.
Windows: “Shared Folder” tab is empty?
The manifest may be in the wrong folder. Try the other paths listed in the manual installation section above. The Microsoft Store version of Office uses a different path than the desktop version.
Add-in not loading / shows blank?
Check your internet connection. The add-in loads from poll.suplay.nl. If the page is blank, try refreshing the add-in or restarting PowerPoint.

Any integration

Can’t sign in from the add-in, add-on or extension?
They all use your normal suPlay Poll account — the same email and password as poll.suplay.nl. Make sure the account exists there first.
Can’t install at all?
Some organizations restrict add-in installation. Contact your IT administrator, or use Live Presenter mode instead (no install — see the section near the top).

Using another presentation tool?

The add-in above is for Microsoft PowerPoint. Google Slides has its own integrations — a Workspace Marketplace add-on that inserts poll slides into your deck (so it stays shareable), and a Chrome extension that overlays the live results on the slide while you present. They work best together: the add-on builds & shares the deck, the extension runs the live session. Keynote, LibreOffice Impress, OnlyOffice and others don’t allow plugins inside slides, but suPlay Poll still works well with them — run the presenter view alongside your deck, drop in the pre-rendered poll-slide images from the event’s Assets page, or use the OBS overlay pattern for a single workflow that works everywhere.
